The Comptia Security+ Exam itself will comprise mostly of multiple choice questions, and some performance based questions, which include:

  • Completing a task
  • Matching, sorting, drag-and-drop, image-based questions, etc. People who have completed the exam claimed that their is quite a few different acronyms to remember, and that having some practical knowledge will help.

The Comptia Security+ study guide book also claims that this book “makes English majors cringe” (Page 32). There are few typos and incorrect verbs, there may be more than one subjectively correct answer, and it is suggested to use intuition, select the most correct answer, and move on.

The CompTIA Security+ certification exam will certify the successful candidate has the knowledge and skills required to:

  • Assess the security posture of an enterprise environment and recommend and implement appropriate security solutions.
  • Monitor and secure hybrid environments, including cloud, mobile, and Internet of Things (IoT).
  • Operate with an awareness of applicable regulations and policies, including principles of governance, risk, and compliance.
  • Identify, analyze, and respond to security events and incidents.
